AFRICA UNVEILED
McMaster African Students’ Association (MASA) will be hosting Afrofest 2012 titled Africa Unveiled on Saturday, March 24th, 2012 at Hamilton Place, 1 Summers Lane, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada from 6:30pm – 10:00pm EST.
Afrofest is an annual celebration Africa's rich heritage through dance, fashion, music, theater and more. The goal of the show is to educate while entertaining and engaging the audience.
Africa Unveiled will be hosted by Kayla Greaves, Ms. Brenda K and Tobi. It will present dance presentations by McMaster Hindu Students' Association (HSA-McMaster) and MASA, intercontinental fashion shows featuring designs by Andrea Iyamah, Emua Fashions, Todun Designs and Vivian Ntiri, musical performances by Ojee, MASA and Tyshan Knight, spoken word and poetry presentations, theatrical performances depicting several African cultures, makeup by Cynthia Boyede, music provided by DJ Hypnotic, live photography coverage by A.y Entertainment, Francis Ngene Photography and Odudu Photography, and video coverage by Blue Revolution Entertainment (BRE) and Tubi Films.
The afterparty is set to hold at a different location (TBA) from 11:00pm.
Note: Tickets cost $20.00CAD before March 11th, $25.00CAD after March 11th and $30.00CAD at the door. The doors open at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7:00pm. Please hold on to your tickets in order to gain free access to the afterparty.
Tickets can only be purchased online via this platform, from representatives of the organizer or at the door.
Sales via this platform will cease at 5:00pm EST on Saturday, March 24th, 2012.
